Section 11
Registration of other marriages
: (1) After the commencement of this Act, a marriage or matrimonial relationship according to the customs, traditions or customs of the religion, caste or clan can be registered under this Act if it is not contrary to this Act.
(2) A couple who wants to register a marriage according to sub-section (1) must submit a written application in the prescribed format to the marriage officer of the area where they have been residing for fifteen days prior to filing the application.
(3) In relation to the application submitted in accordance with subsection (2), the provisions of section 6 and 7 shall apply.
(4) If it is decided to register such a marriage or matrimonial relationship after taking action according to sub-section (3), the marriage officer must register the marriage registration in the marriage registration book of the prescribed format and the couple and the witnesses and the marriage officer must stamp on the marriage registration book.
(5) When registering a marriage in accordance with sub-section (4), the date of marriage or marriage shall be mentioned and the name, age and gender of children born after that date shall also be mentioned in the registration book.
(6) The registration made in accordance with sub-section (4) shall be proof of the fact of mutual marriage.
(7) After such registration, the marriage officer will issue a marriage certificate to the couple in the prescribed format.
